About Me
Hi, I’m Amy.
I’m an artist and animator who is passionate about making educational content fun and engaging for all children, especially those amongst the neurodivergent community.
Welcome to my online Portfolio.
Here, you will see some of the projects I created from concept through to completion, for myself and previous employers.
Some of these projects are still in development/waiting to be released. Where possible, I have included some details of these projects and artwork to show my experience.
I’m very creative and passionate about animation, education and neurodiversity.
I began my career as a Flash Animator/Artist at EducationCity (a small start-up business at the time). Within two years, I was the Lead Animator on our (soon to be) award-winning phonics scheme. Shortly after we won the award, I expressed an interest in writing and directing my own content.
I love writing engaging scripts, stories and songs that entertain and educate, as well as draw and animate
I was given the opportunity to create my very first educational activity from scratch, and it was so engaging that I was promoted to the brand new role of Creative Producer. Within this role, I created countless themed games, stories and songs. I worked with a team of artists/animators, developers, musicians, singers, voiceover artists, educational consultants and producers to bring my visions to life. I also cast voiceover actors to help bring our characters to life (they had never spoken before). I was constantly pushing boundaries, problem solving and improving our content/games. I was seen as a pioneer and told that I inspired my colleagues - everyone loved working on my projects and learning from the new methods I was exploring.

Aye, Aye, Captain!®
My original phonics series
Episode 1
I have created a series of six educational, animated videos (each approximately 10 mins long).
Having spent many years working in eLearning, I wanted to create my own, neurodiverse educational content that could successfully teach “tricky phonics” to young reluctant readers and children struggling with dyslexia.
I have more episodes planned (scripted and storyboarded).

SEND Teaching Assistant
Having spent so many years making educational content for primary schools, I felt called to work as a Teaching Assistant, where I could meet the sort of children and teachers I’d been helping from behind the scenes, and support children with special educational needs and disabilities.
This was a wonderful experience. And it really opened my eyes to the challenges everyone faces within the classroom. It was so rewarding to find that everything I’d learned from making eLearning games and worksheets allowed me to make a real difference. And I saw the ways different children engaged with activities - gaining a greater understanding of real, everyday struggles - and what would be helpful for certain children, and also the teachers and teaching assistants.
Here is a worksheet that I made for the assessed teaching section of my interview. I also made a themed number bond model and a large number line. I used these things to teach and support a group of four children for 15 minutes.

Educational Song Videos
Working with graphics from printed textbooks and song tracks provided by the client, to create animated music videos for kids.
Above are examples of illustrated/animated designs I created for e4education. These were incorporated into the websites (desktop and mobile) by a talented team of Web Designers and Developers.
